French Faux-Pas #1 and I Haven't Even Left Yet

I have been telling the french kid that I am excited to meet his family. You know, all friendly, as if in English I were to say, "I am looking forward to meeting your family", only figuring out the french equivalent to the phrase "looking forward" was too complicated. I really should have tried, though, because apparently I have been telling him that I am excited-excited to meet his family, if you know what I mean.

Oh geez.

I am going to be the laughing stock of the entire east coast.

Don't worry about it. You're learning, and trying so hard to master a difficult language. You get an A for effort!
