Postcard Extravaganza
Since it's finally summertime, and I don't have much to do besides work every once in awhile, I've been spending a lot of time surfing the internet, and I've found a few neat things.
The first is PostSecret, a website in which people send the owner of the site a postcard confessing some deep, dark secret of theirs. A lot of them are rather PG13, and after awhile I got sick of reading about people being molested, but for the most part they're really interesting and weirdly profound and sometimes full of hilarious irony and I liked reading them. The address is http://postsecret.blogspot.com
Next, I've discovered a website called Postcard X. With this one, what you do is click on a link, which takes you to a random person. You get their address and a little paragraph or two that they've written about themselves, and then you make a postcard based on that and send it to them. In a lot of ways, it's a breeding ground for stalkers. But it's also weirdly interesting, and I kind of want to see what kind of postcard someone would make me if I added myself to the list. I probably won't. But it's interesting. The address is http://www.postcardx.net
